These moments reveal the allure of a hidden gem – the brooch. A statement of artistry and individuality, it merges modern flair with classic charm.

We have spoken with Lucas about his connection to creativity and jewellery.
What does creativity mean to you – both in your career and in relation to your personal style?
"Creativity, to me, is a way to express my personality. It is a big part of who I am. For me, it feels playing – a way of sharing something of myself. It’s like a treasure hunt, discovering what’s inside the mind. I’m also very visual. For example, I might watch a film, see a costume or a character that I find inspiring, and that can influence how I want to dress. I once watched a 70s film where they wore these big shirt collars, and the next day, I wanted to find a shirt with that kind of collar. In general, filling my everyday life with creativity is incredibly important to me.
People also inspire me a lot, especially my network and my friends. I’m lucky to have many people in my circle of friends from the film industry and the creative world, and we inspire each other a lot at. I generally find it difficult to sit still, and my mind is always racing with ideas – it could be an idea for a new film or the beginning of a play. I find it hard not to think about my craft – and if I didn’t, I wouldn’t know where all these crazy thoughts would go.
When it comes to my personal style and my own touch, I like to challenge everyday norms. For example, I enjoy wearing something androgynous that can be styled in a more boyish way. The delicate, feminine elements can be placed in a context with something oversized or baggy, blending the two worlds. I like mixing the unconventional and feminine with something raw – also to show that guys can go in that direction, even if they’re not androgynous but much more masculine. In general, I think guys my age have started embracing a more androgynous style when it comes to fashion and jewellery, and I love that. I also think it’s cool to flip the script – to wear really masculine jewellery while dressing more androgynously. Contrast is the common thread. If you take a really beautiful brooch, for example, you don’t necessarily have to pair it with a suit; instead, you can style it in a completely different way to create a more casual look."
What inspires you to style your jewellery?
"The film world and movie characters are a huge inspiration for me. For example, I watched this road trip film called Y Tu Mamá También, which is about two boys and an older woman. One of the boys wears a necklace, and I just thought, "That necklace is so cool – can I find something similar?". So sometimes, a character can inspire my next look or the way I style something. Speaking of Ole Lynggaard jewellery, I’m in a film called Mecenaten – a Swedish feature film coming out this year – where I play this very androgynous, artistic type. I thought it would be fun if he wore a bold earring with a story behind it, and when I saw the Evil Eye earring, I immediately thought of this character. So it can also work the other way around, where a piece of jewellery inspires a character, which I find incredibly fascinating. Every piece of jewellery tells a story – and what’s behind that story? The Evil Eye earring actually ended up being in the film and playing a major role in a key scene that changes the character’s direction, which was amazing."
What is your favourite OLE LYNGGAARD COPENHAGEN piece of jewellery?
"It’s hard to choose. The Snakes ring holds a special meaning for me, especially because Laura, my girlfriend, has it. I’ve been lucky enough to borrow it a few times, and I love its androgynous feel. You don’t see many men wearing a snake gold ring on their pinky, and I think that’s exactly what I like about it – that it stands out on its own. I also really love the Elephant. It’s a true classic. Right now, for example, I have the small Elephant on my bracelet, but I’ve also worn the large Elephant on a necklace. I’m also a big fan of the Love colliers – you can style them in so many different ways. We’ve tried linking two Love colliers together to create a longer necklace, but we’ve also worn the shorter ones as more of a choker. I also love combining the Love collier with the Elephant, which we’ve seen many others do as well – and it works incredibly well. There are just so many ways to wear them. I’m also really excited to start wearing the brooches – on my own ties, jackets, and hats. I wore the Young Fish brooches on a beret during Copenhagen Fashion Week this year, and it was absolutely wonderful. In general, I love finding new ways to style jewellery that haven’t been seen before."
