8. HOW WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels, tags, web beacons and other identifiers to help us personalise our web page for you, remember your preferences, understand how users use our web page or app, and help customise our marketing offers.

8.1. Cookies

A cookie is a small data file that contains a number of features sent to your computer when you visit a site. When you visit the same site again, the cookie allows the site to recognise your browser. The length of time a cookie stays on your computer or on your mobile device depends on whether it is a long-term cookie or a session cookie. OLC uses both types of cookies. Session cookies will stay on your device only until you finish your internet browsing. Long-term cookies remain on your computer or on your mobile device until they expire or are deleted. We use the following types of cookies on our website.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are essential for surfing our website and using its functions. Without these cookies, services such as shopping carts cannot be provided when shopping.
  • Performance cookies: These cookies collect information about how you use our web pages. This data can be used to improve and optimise our website and make it more user-friendly for you.
  • Functionality cookies: These cookies allow our web pages to remember the choices you made during your search on the web. We can save your geographic location in a cookie to ensure that we show you the web pages that are relevant to your area.
  • Third-party cookies: Third-party cookies are cookies placed by web pages and/or by non-OLC parties. These cookies can be used on our website to improve our products or services, or to help us deliver more relevant advertising. These cookies are subject to the respective Privacy Policy that these external services have, e.g. Facebook’s Privacy Policy.

Analysis cookies. We use analytical cookies, such as those provided by Google Analytics, to help us understand things such as how long a visitor stays on our web pages, what pages they find most useful, and how they came to OLC.com. To learn more about Google Analytics and your data, visit this Google web page.

8.2. How to control your settings for cookies

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. However, if you limit the website's ability to place cookies, your overall user experience may be impaired. Some browsers provide Do Not Track (DNT) signals by which you can notify your preferences regarding tracking your internet activity and cross-site tracking. Although we currently do not use technologies that recognise DNT signals, we will only process your personal data in accordance with our current Privacy Policy. You can learn more below about how to control cookie settings on popular web browsers:

Google Chrome
Internet Explorer
Safari
Firefox

8.3. Pixels

In addition to cookies, we occasionally use small graphic images known as pixels (also known as web beacons, clear GIFs, or pixel tags). We use pixels in our e-mail communication to you (if you have chosen to receive such communication) to help us know if our e-mail communication has been read. In addition, we use pixels from third parties (such as from Google, Facebook, and other advertising networks) to help us deliver ads that are relevant to you.

8.4. Other identifiers

When you use our app, we collect a unique identifier for tracking ads from your device (the advertising identifier or IDFA on iOS devices) so we can learn more about users of our app and provide the most relevant messages and marketing. Although these identifiers are unique to your device, they do not contain any of your personal information, such as your name or e-mail address.

8.5. How to control your settings for identifiers

You can control how these identifiers are used, including the ability to reset them through the settings on your device. You can learn more below about how to control cookie settings on popular web browsers: Apple iOS

8.6. Advertising and modern marketing tools

OLC collaborates with third party advertisers who use cookies and similar technologies in order to provide more relevant OLC products and services on our web pages and on the internet. In order to deliver this interest-based advertising, these parties can combine non-personal data about your online activities that they have collected over time, which helps to customise the advertisements we deliver to you. Examples of this can include displaying an OLC ad on a Facebook page, on a page owned by Google, such as a search results page or on YouTube, or on a page in Google’s advertising network. We do not share your personal information as part of this process. When necessary, we obtain your consent to this process. You can opt out of receiving custom ads from third party advertisers and ad networks that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) or that adhere to the Digital Advertising Alliance's Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioural Advertising by visiting the pages with opt-outs on NAI websites and DAA websites. Choosing to opt out may make the ads you see on the web less relevant to you.

If you have opted out of receiving messages from us by e-mail, we will not use your e-mail for interest-based advertising.

9. HOW YOU CAN CONTACT US

If you have any questions about the use of your personal data, please send us an e-mail privacy@olelynggaard.com.
