13/11/2023
Øregaard Museum has just opened the doors to the exhibition DIAMOND JUBILEE. OLE LYNGGAARD COPENHAGEN - 60 YEARS OF FINE JEWELLERY DESIGN. The exhibition was inaugurated during an unforgettable opening night in the company of family, guests, and friends of the house.
The dream of a solo exhibition in a museum setting has been flourishing for a long time. Now the dream is brought to life by the creation of the special exhibition DIAMOND JUBILEE at Øregaard Museum, where works by three Lynggaard generations are represented. The exhibition is curated by Charlotte Lynggaard and Sofia Lynggaard Normann in collaboration with Øregaard Museum.
"We are incredibly proud to enter into this collaboration with Øregaard Museum. We have long dreamed of bringing the history and the designs of the company into a museum – a space where there is room for immersion and contemplation. And being able to share it with our father, our devoted employees, and the many design enthusiasts in Denmark and from abroad is very special. We couldn't wish for a better way to end our 60th anniversary year," says designer and creative director Charlotte Lynggaard.
The exhibition takes us on a journey into OLE LYNGGAARD COPENHAGEN's design universe and the artistic and craftsman processes that underlies the creation of the jewellery. The exhibition displays more than 100 pieces of fine jewellery from 1963 to 2023 including iconic works and special pieces. Among other things, visitors can discover historical jewellery designed by Ole Lynggaard, The Midnight Tiara and the BoHo rings, designed by Charlotte Lynggaard, as well as brand new jewellery designed by Sofia Lynggaard Normann, third generation in the design family.
The exhibition was inaugurated during a spectacular opening night. For the opening, we welcomed invited guests as well as family and friends to the museum to experience the exhibition and share this unique milestone. It was a magical evening looking back at 60 years of design history.
Mayor of Gentofte municipality, Michael Fenger, welcomed the guests, after which writer and dear friend of Øregaard Museum, Anni Nørskov Mørch, held the opening speech. Afterwards, museum director Sidsel Maria Søndergaard inaugurated the exhibition together with Søren Lynggaard and Charlotte Lynggaard.
All three generations of the Lynggaard family were gathered to celebrate the opening of the exhibition. Surrounded by friends and family, Ole Lynggaard commenced on a magical end to an unforgettable anniversary year.
